Back from UKREiiF — and more inspired than ever.

Attending UKREiiF as part of WiCA was a powerful reminder of why this platform exists.

From panel sessions on the future workforce to honest conversations with industry leaders, the same challenges kept surfacing:
➡️ The construction industry needs new talent.
➡️ Young people want to join—but don’t know how.
➡️ The pathways into careers in construction are unclear—or not there at all.
➡️ Representation and visibility are still lacking.
➡️ Mentorship and real-life stories are key to creating change.

One panel in particular—“Where will the next generation of built environment workers come from?”—really struck a chord.
The message? The appetite is there, but the journey from education to employment is fractured. And too often, we’re not speaking directly to the people we need to reach.

WiCA is here to change that.

This platform is more than a network—it’s a space for:

  • Honest conversations about what it’s really like to work in construction
  • Career advice grounded in lived experience
  • Connecting students and early talent with people in the industry
  • Challenging outdated perceptions and showing what’s possible

If you’ve just joined WiCA—welcome.
If you’ve been here a while—this is your moment to share something. A story. A lesson. A first step.

And if you’re an industry professional who recognises the same issues raised at UKREiiF and want to be part of the solution—this is the space to make it happen.
