Welcome to WICA (Women in Construction Anglia)—a platform dedicated to empowering and supporting women and underrepresented groups within the construction industry. To maintain a safe, professional, and inclusive space, all members are expected to follow these Community Guidelines.

1. Respect & Professionalism

• Treat all members with respect, courtesy and professionalism.
• Harassment, discrimination, bullying, or hate speech based on gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated.
• Discussions should remain constructive and professional.

2. Authenticity & Integrity

• Use your real name and accurate professional details.
• Do not impersonate others, provide misleading information, or misrepresent your experience.
• Share truthful, factual and industry-relevant content.

3. No Spam, Promotions or Misuse

• No excessive self-promotion—this platform is about community and collaboration.
• Job postings, event advertisements, or business promotions must be relevant to the construction industry and follow platform guidelines.
• No mass messaging, unsolicited promotions, or recruitment spam.

4. Privacy & Confidentiality

• Respect the privacy of other members—do not share personal information or private messages without consent.
• No screenshots, copying, or republishing of private conversations.
• Ensure that all shared content is non-confidential and appropriate.

5. Zero tolerance for harmful behaviour

• Any form of threats, intimidation, or sexual harassment will lead to immediate removal and potential legal action.
• If you experience inappropriate behaviour, report it immediately through the platform’s moderation team.

6. Moderation & Reporting Breaches

• WICA moderators review flagged content and accounts to ensure compliance with these guidelines.
• If you witness a breach, use the “Report” feature to notify moderators.
• Offenders may face:
  • Warnings (for minor infractions)
  • Temporary suspensions (for repeated offenses)
  • Permanent bans (for serious or repeated breaches)

• WICA reserves the right to suspend, terminate or decline approval of any accounts deemed not appropriate for the platform.

2. Content Ownership & Usage

• You retain ownership of any content you post but grant WICA a license to use, display and share it within the community.
• Content must be professional, relevant and non-offensive.
• Do not share copyrighted material unless you have permission.
• No fake news, misleading information, or illegal content.

3. Privacy & Data Protection

• WICA does not sell user data or share personal information without consent.
• You control what information is visible on your profile.

4. Platform Conduct & Restrictions

• Do not engage in harassment, discrimination, threats, or illegal activities.
• Do not misuse the platform for spam, scams, or unauthorised promotions.

• WICA does not guarantee job placements, mentorships, or business opportunities.
• WICA is not liable for any disputes, damages, or external agreements made between members.
• Users engage at their own risk and WICA is not responsible for any losses or misconduct.

6. Violations & Enforcement

• WICA reserves the right to take action against breaches, including:
  • Warnings for minor infractions
  • Temporary account suspensions for repeated violations
  • Permanent bans for serious offenses
  • Legal action if necessary
