More women than ever are stepping into construction apprenticeships, and that’s something to celebrate.
In 2023/24, around 2,420 women began construction-related apprenticeships in the UK. That’s a 67% increase since 2018. Even better, completions by women have nearly tripled in five years.
That’s progress. But we still have work to do.
Because here’s the thing: only 18% of all construction and engineering apprenticeships are taken by women. And many drop out early due to a lack of support, inclusive environments, or visible career progression.
