The power of mentorship in construction.

“I wouldn’t be here without the women who showed me the way.”

Mentorship can make or break someone’s journey, especially in a sector where many women are still the only female on-site or in their team.

Yet studies show that over a third of women in construction have never had a female manager or mentor. That means many of us are navigating new spaces without guidance, support, or someone to say, “You’ve got this.”

WiCA believes mentorship doesn’t need to be formal or perfect. Sometimes it’s as simple as sharing your story, offering a bit of time, or being a voice of encouragement.

So we want to know:

  • Who helped shape your journey?
  • What advice stayed with you?
  • Are you mentoring someone now, or do you want to be mentored?

This is about bridging gaps, passing the mic, and creating networks that empower the next generation.

If you’re willing to mentor, even just by answering a few questions now and then, drop a comment. You never know who needs to hear what you’ve learned.
