Earlier this year, we launched our first ever WiCA Champions initiative, calling on women from across the East of England to become visible role models and help inspire the next generation into construction.
We have been delighted by the response and will officially launch the programme at our WiCA Champions Lunch on Tuesday 13 October at Edmunds Restaurant, West Suffolk College.
Held in partnership with the Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC) East of England, the lunch will bring our Champions together for the first time to meet one another, learn more about the programme and help shape how we can make the greatest impact. A buffet lunch is provided.
Together, we’ll explore opportunities to visit schools and colleges, support career changers, share real experiences and help more women see that there is a place for them within construction.
The partnership with CTEC will also help us strengthen the connection between education and industry, ensuring learners can meet visible role models and discover the wide range of careers available across the sector.
We still have 10 spaces available for anyone who would like to become a WiCA Champion. To find out more, please contact karina@womeninconstructionanglia.com.
